North Island Credit Union invites applications from Riverside County students for its 2022 scholarship program.
Under the program, the credit union offers $1,000 scholarships to 20 students each year to recognize Southern California students who are academically motivated and active in their schools and communities, according to a Press release.
“We know the cost of higher education can be a challenge for many families, and we’re proud to help these students on their path to achieving their educational goals,” said Steve O’Connell, CEO of North Island Credit. Union, in the press release. “We look forward to reviewing the many inspirational stories in our scholarship applications.”
Riverside County high school seniors and community college students transferring to a four-year university who maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average are eligible to participate. Selection criteria include academic achievement, academic or community involvement, a letter of recommendation, and an essay submission.

The Credit Union Scholarship Program was established in 2005 to recognize outstanding students from Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange counties. Since the program was created, the Caisse has awarded more than $355,000 in scholarships.
